I think falling has the right idea,   lets keep the drop zone alive and make it into our own little party.. We will put things where people can find them..

Remember the number 1 rule they have to be where people can get them by public transport or have to have easy access..

Keep the DROP ALIVE!!!

Well its been a truely educational if I must say the most..  The scaryiest thing i have come across is a Car Dealership closing down due to gas prices sky rocketing and no one wanting to buy cars..

I recently talked with one of the Managers of the Dealer Ships and here is what he had to say about everything:

Me: How is the gas price affecting you?
Manager of Dealership: Hard, business is slowly fading away.
Me: What scares you the most?
Manager of Dealership: Finding a other job to support my family, I see all these other dealerships going the way of DODO, and never thought it would happen to me.
Me: Have you tried other methods of trying to sell the cars?
Manager of Dealership: Yes, we have cut prices, offered money back on certain models, but nothing people come and look but the with gas prices rising they cant afford to buy the car they want.  We cant give them away then we would lose money on it..
Me: Its has to be hard seeing others around you close shop and knowing your next..
Manager of Dealership: Yes it is, even if we sell one car its not enough.. It would be sooner or later I would see that car abandon on the street because the person couldnt afford to get gas..
Me: I never thought of it that way..
Manager of Dealership: Neither did I at the time, I feel bad for the other dealers trying to find work to support their families.
Me: That is so sad.. But anyways thanks for your time.
Manager of Dealership: No problem..

There you have it, car dealer closing shop not being able to sell cars, because of the gas prices rising..
This is RAMiles saying KEEP THE GOOD FIGHT GOING and NEVER GIVE UP

Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things that you could ever do.  I have made so many friends its just numberous to mention.. I have learned so much about these past 32 weeks..  Chatting with Rainy was always a pleasure and listening to the updates on the phone.
I just wanted this to go on longer then it was attended.  At first I had my doubts about his ARG, but as time went by I learned so much about everyone.

Listeing to the postes and reading the blogs I have really learned alot about how people would deal with the crisis if it would ever happen to them.  I played AGRS before but thsi was the first with a lesson attached to it, and with no puzzles.  But all in all it was blast playing.

I just want to thank all of you for being sharing your lives with me.

Thing over here just went from good to bad for me.  When I went to start my car yesterday to move it so our side of the street can be cleaned, it wouldnt start.  A thought came to be that brought tears to my eyes. If I lose my car I have no means to get to a job that futuer than I can walk or bus.  That means I will have no income and no income means I am gonna have to find a way to pay for my education.

I just got declined by S.S for SSI and SSA and finding jobs out here for me in my field are very tough expecially when you been out of work for a few years.  The city cant help me, neither can the state.  But parents keep worrying about my well being and whats gonna happen to me, and don't like to see them worry about..

I love both my parents so much they have supported me in all my endevours and through life.  If it wasnt for them I wouldn't have a chance to go back to school at all.  Both of them are on retired, but the their pensions arent enough they had to sell all their stocks they owned to pay bills and I had cash in my CD so help with bills as well..

Thing had gotten harder on my mother in just recently; losing my grandmother then finding out she needs to go in for a special preceedure that needs to be done.. With money so tight and me having a hard time and gas prices so high I worry how we are ever going to survive day by day.

Well, I am back from my weekend excursion from Carbondale, IL and let me tell you on the way down things were looking good till we left Cook County..  There were abanddon cars all over the I-57 and and Gas prices were as high as 3.69  and 3.79..   Thinigs didnt look better till we entered Carbondale and the price went to 3.39 and 3.29 but wait the best was 3.19 for gas at a noname gas station..

The wedding was short but sweet.. The sad thing was that my cousins sister car got hit by lightning and totaled all the electronics and they had to get a rent a car.  But the bad part was total the car cus all electronics is gone.  The rent car place wouldnt let them takle the car back to Chicago and so they had to drive it back to Effingham, IL than take the train back home..

Thats it for me here.. Stay tuned for more updates..

Things are setting down here in Chicago, even though prices havnt changed much.. As I walked around my area to find a good place to get some food in my stomach, I looked the prices of gas and there is not much of a price differ between Shell and Marathon.   Some might think that the gas companies might be in it to get richer, but yet its the fuel companies getting richer.   The only form of transportation that has it easy is airlines when they buy they buy a fixed price for 3 months.

A 10 difference between the two.

But I just talked with some of the employees of a airline and I was told that they are thinking of hiring out for work and letting their employees go, because its cheaper and they dont have to pay for benefits.  They even told me they saw a lot of people just leaving their cars at the airport parking garage cus it was would cost them too much to refuel to get home.

Things here are leveling off, even though as walk around I see more and more abandon cards along the streets and road ways.. Just yesterday I saw a whole section of the mall parking lot filled with vacant cars, because there is a bus that goes near by. People have left their cars unlocked because they cant afford to fill them up with gas.. I told talked with one guy who says its hard for him, he and his wife are really getting down to just the neccisities to get by and thats hard. They cant afford to keep their car with all its expensses; whats even harder is she is due to have a child any day. The husband was so happy but so sad because of the way prices are going, he is so worried how they are going to beable to raise their son.. I had mentioned to him about the CSA and told him to look into it..

on the brighter side... I had a chat with Fallingintosin yesterday and she was fourteen hours from home, and looking to getting home and posting some messages..

Its getting crazy out here in Chicago and surrounding burbs..

I just got back from the mall I usuall shop at and its like a ghost town.  Half the stores are closing up, and the ones that are open have very little stock..   I spoke with one of the magangers of a store and asked him what is going on.  He told me thats its crazy one day like the store was mobbed and people were fighting over things and there was chaos every where the mall security couldnt keep up with it all and when it was all over poeple were arrested for looting and fighting.  But whats worse now is that half the stores closed up, that no one wants to deal with this kind of mess. The biggest issue is the Mall is trouble of losing one of their bigger anchor stores.

Now for those of you who dont know what a Anchor store is, its a big store on each end of the Mall like Macys or Carson.. If a store would lose one of those its big finacially..

Anyways after getting done talking with him I wanderd around the mall; the mall so bleek and empty with very little people walking around it.. Its just depressing..

This has too be the most shocking thing I have seen this this oil crisis has started.  I was driving down I-94 to go south to see my brother on the southside of Chicago, and out of No where 3 cars stopped in front of a Oil Tanker Truck and pulled the driver out at gun point.  Talk about desperatation..

Anyways, After the hijackers left I pulled up and asked the driver if I could help being the good citizen I am.  So I took him to nearest police station so he could report it and call his company..

But I got to talk with the driver and he was telling me he had no chooice, he has a family to worry about and where he is at they are in the same situation with him family worrying about whats going to happen.  Then he goes into telling me that where he lives the main area like where a lot of stores are, has turned into a ghost town, just a few people trying to make a living while the rest closed up and headed up north to where they can re-open and get more business.

He has even told me that the Oil companies are hurting due to the fact that their suppliers are low in supply and they are having to find other means to find their supply..

I asked the driver if the people were Military or Government, he said no that they looked like ordinary people in desperatation.

Well with the way things are going in Chicago I decied to do my part.. I decied to put my plastic dog leashes away and pull out the old wool ones that we used when my dogs were puppies..  I felt good to use something that wasnt oil produced and also it felt good just walk around the park and down by the loogon with my dogs.

Here is what I did.

1. Put the plastic leashes away
2. I pulled out the old wool woven leashes and hooked them up too their harnesses.
3. when it was time to walk my dogs instead of walking them in the alley like I usually do
4. I took them to the park and a bit further to the park then I even took them to mall to get photos of them..

This is my whateverwithoutoil..

Whatever happened to good old days when gas was cheap, and you were able to get by without paying an arm and leg for gas.

I remember a few years ago when me and my family went down south to southern Illinois, for a 3 day weekend and stayed at a B&B. I remember my cousin telling me that gas in MO. was at.99 cents and gas in southern, IL was 1.99.

Those day are long gone now your talking about gas at 2 and 2 dollars and even hitting as high as 4 and 5 and 6 in other areas. Bio-Disel and Hydrogen are alternatives but not feesible at this point in time.

The only people who are making the big bucks at this time in the crisis are buses and trains, because the price of gas will drive people to take public transportation.

Well thats it for my rant here.. Stay tuned for more stories and updates from me.
